We all have specific learning differences! But for individuals who have recognised SpLDs like Dyslexia everyday life can be a struggle and dealing with it can cause a real barrier to making the best of their great strengths. Its a daily battle which can leave our colleagues with SpLDs tired, frustrated and unable to reach their full potential. The good news is that there are plenty of practical ways to help, often at little cost. I can offer a highly flexible approach to training which targets the particular needs of your organisation, and focuses on raising awareness and providing low-key, practical solutions. Following your initial enquiry, requirements will be discussed in detail with you beforehand, so that you can be sure of a helpful and enjoyable experience for all.
Consultation visits

Consultation visits to schools, employers and other organisations will assist with understanding the needs of those who have diagnosed specific learning difficulties or speech, language and communication difficulties, and with offering well-targeted support. Consultation will help you to understand the daily environment from the perspective of the person concerned, identify useful strategies and draw up suitable learning targets if required. Consultation is very much focused on meeting the needs of specific individuals in their day-to-day environment, and may require one or more visits. Advice given will be tailored to meet your requirements, but might involve:

-
helping to interpret existing professional reports
-
meeting with the individual concerned to gain their views
-
appraisal of the environment
-
meeting with key support staff and/or colleagues
-
review of existing targets, updating as appropriate
-
provision of suggested targets and timescales
-
recommending practical strategies and modifications
-
demonstrating approaches to learning or working
